DPF Cleaning by Vehicle — Make-Specific Mobile Service in Brisbane

Every diesel blocks its Diesel Particulate Filter a little differently. A Ford Ranger throws an “Exhaust Filter Overloaded” message, a Mitsubishi Triton says “DPF System Service Required”, a Subaru flashes a symbol and dilutes its oil. Clean Flow DPF works on them all — mobile, on the vehicle, across Brisbane. Pick your make below, or read on for how we approach any diesel.

DPF cleaning for every common diesel

Whatever you drive, the goal is the same: find out why the filter blocked, clean it on the car if it’s safe, and confirm the result with live data. We’ve cleaned 1,500+ DPFs across utes, 4WDs, vans, trucks, buses, fleet vehicles and Euro diesels.

Vehicles we service

We regularly work on:

  • Ford Ranger — “Exhaust Filter Overloaded – Drive to Clean”, P2463/P246C
  • Toyota Hilux — manual regen, EGR-related soot
  • Mitsubishi Triton — “DPF System Service Required”, P1498
  • Isuzu D-Max — high soot from short trips
  • Subaru Outback & Forester — flashing DPF symbol, oil dilution, inlet plumbing
  • Holden Captiva — P2463 & P242F
  • Land Rover & Range Rover — P200200 “Exhaust Filter Full”

We also service Mazda BT-50, VW Amarok, Mercedes, BMW, Audi, Jeep and Peugeot diesels, plus vans, trucks and buses.

Why DPF faults differ by make

The filter does the same job in every diesel, but the details change:

  • Dash messages and fault codes differ — Ford’s “Drive to Clean”, Mitsubishi’s “DPF System Service Required”, Subaru’s flashing symbol.
  • Known weak points vary — Subarus are prone to inlet plumbing issues and oil dilution; Euro diesels often have sensor and EGR-related faults.
  • Regen behaviour differs — some makes let you trigger a manual regen with a button, others need a scan tool.

Knowing the quirks of your make helps us find the real cause faster — which is why we keep a guide for each. Chasing a specific fault rather than a clean? See our DPF problems by vehicle guide.

Our process is the same for every vehicle

  1. Diagnostic assessment — scan the vehicle, log fault codes, check live data (soot %, pressure, temperature, regen history).
  2. Confirm it’s safe to clean — if the filter is ash-bound or damaged, we tell you first.
  3. On-car chemical clean — DPF-safe chemical through the pressure sensor hose, then a flush. No removal, no towing.
  4. Post-clean check — recheck the data, clear the fault, run a regen if needed.

Vehicle DPF cleaning cost

Pricing is the same across makes: our complete on-vehicle clean is a flat $850, all-in — diagnostic assessment, 2-part chemical clean & flush, forced regeneration and reset, done at your location in 60–90 minutes. That’s a fraction of a new filter, which can run from $2,000 to over $10,000 for some makes. See our DPF cleaning cost page.

Frequently asked questions

Can I clean the DPF on my vehicle myself?

For light soot, a highway drive or an additive can help on most makes. But once the light’s on, the car’s in limp mode, or a regen has failed, you need a diagnosis and on-car clean — DIY won’t fix the underlying fault.

How much does it cost to clean my make of DPF?

Across makes, our complete mobile DPF clean is one flat price — $850, all-in (diagnostic assessment, 2-part chemical clean & flush, forced regeneration and reset), done at your location in 60–90 minutes — far less than a replacement filter.

How long will a cleaned DPF last?

If the underlying fault is fixed and the vehicle gets the occasional longer run to regenerate, a cleaned DPF can serve for years on any make. A clean that ignores the cause won’t last.

Does revving the engine clear the DPF?

No — revving a stationary vehicle won’t reliably regenerate the DPF. A proper regen needs sustained higher-speed driving or a forced regen with a scan tool.
